The cheapest place to buy Westvleteren is the LCBO in Ontario at around $75.00. Go figure.

    • Andy permalink

Good luck getting one, we’re only getting 1,400 six packs out of the 163,000

Why is Texas getting left out? We love beer here, especially in Austin. Huge oversight as we have quite a few beer drinkers here.

    • mattdinges permalink

      Hi Jaime,

It wasn’t an oversight. Obviously, the quantities of this beer are very limited and it couldn’t have gotten to everybody who wanted it, but some states are especially difficult for small breweries. The licensing fees and registration process in order to sell this one beer from the brewery in Texas make it impossible to do. Those rules keep a lot of beers out of your fine state.

      • DavidN permalink

        I live in TX…:(

      • Patricia permalink

Weak. Tons of Homebrewers in Austin who would appreciate this too. Oh well.

      • John_in_BigD permalink

We do have some seriously arcane rules here, but there are people working to change that, albeit too late for this event. I have requests out to friends in IL and CA to find me a bottle or two. I’m shipping them each some homebrew this month anyway, so it only seems fair..

      • James permalink

I have an business that helps companies obtain business licensing nationwide, and from my experience texas is by far and away the most difficult place for alcohol related licensing.

My only concern is the Missouri: tbd…. Please tell me somewhere near St. Louis! 🙂

What about Utah? What’s keeping it out of Utah?

    • Gene M. Herrmann permalink

Damn the bad luck! We love our beer here in San Antonio!!

    • Chris permalink

Agreed. WTH? I’d love to get one of these!

    • sam permalink

totally agree a fellow austinite and I want some!!!!!

    • Mike permalink

Yep, you can thank the TABC for that.

  3. Ken permalink

Just curious why not New Jersey? Thankfully NY and Del are close enough, but surprised Jersey was not on the list.

    • mattdinges permalink

      Hi Ken,

Unfortunately, a previous unauthorized import ruled New Jersey out for this special action.

      • JTC permalink

Yep, no surprise there that Jersey has a “law” against this import…bet ya the politicians will get a case or two though!

  4. Greg permalink

Never thought i would say this as i try to shop local .. but thank goodness for Total Wine!

  5. scd permalink

It was released in GA a couple weeks ago.

  6. Wow, I can’t pick it up in OK, and I can’t have my friends in NJ or PA get it for me either.

    • Artie permalink

You seriously thought one of us subjects of the People’s Republic of Pennsylvania could get any kind of specialty beer or spirit? Hah!

      • haha, i concur with artie on that one… slim pickings here. Too bad I just found out about this, Delaware is sold out

  7. Hi, can anybody clarify the locations in Alabama? Specifically, the listing for “Piggly Wiggly, Homeland” – There doesn’t seem to be a Homeland, AL (Homeland is a OK/KS food store chain). And there are a good number of Piggly Wigglys across AL. I’m considering starting calling their corporate office but thought I’d ask prior!
    Thanks.

  8. brittonharper permalink

I would like some in Wichita, KS. Thanks.

  9. Gary permalink

Hi Matt, thanks for the info. Did any of these make it to Washington State? Not on your list…

  10. Zac Maynard permalink

Missouri is TBD? Any update on this? I’d like to try to find a brick somewhere.

    • Would love to know if this will be available in St. Louis, Missouri!

      • cjc permalink

no love in STL, it looks like.

  11. Sam permalink

Interesting to note no DC. The laws here allow anyone to import any beer into the District as long as there is not a pre-existing licensed distributor.

  12. No CT or Wisconsin either? Where’s the love???

  13. Jennifer H permalink

When and where will you announce the “TBD” Missouri retailer? Thanks in advance!

  14. Jeff permalink

When will the Missouri locations be published?

  15. Sheila J permalink

    any updates on MO?

  16. Where in Georgia?

  17. jim permalink

What?! No Washington state? We love beer!

    • viiilx permalink

Drive to Portland, they don’t drink down there.

      • Chariti permalink

I hate to burst your bubble viiilx but Portland is known for there microbrews. As a matter of fact Portland is known as americas microbrew capital more then 24 breweries in the city surroundings alone. We love our beer.

  18. Liz permalink

Aw drats! Nothing in Tennessee. 😦

  19. Beer City USA – Grand Rapids, Michigan, not included either. It’s ok though, I know the licensing laws in Michigan are killer to get anything in here. They banned “Raging Bitch” because of the name.

    • fjl permalink

Asheville, North Carolina IS “Beer City”…a tie with the 3 time winner doesn’t qualify Grand Rapids to claim anything except an honorable mention…

  20. Terec Willson permalink

Any word on the Missouri/st Louis availability?

  21. Austin Laird permalink

    No Washington 😦

  22. biengwatched permalink

Not a bad price..considering what a “typical beer” costs at any Pro sports event.

  23. Tim G. permalink

Is Washington too far away or something? Oregon got some…

  24. john permalink

do you have to drink it right away? how long can it last in the bottle?

  25. Angry permalink

Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido is forcing people to spend $50 at the store to be able to get their beer. Bullshit

  26. CHris permalink

Why are Pennsylvanias rules so strict? I thought they were getting better as of recent. Are there many taxes/fees or laws preventing this in PA?

  27. Merp! This is why I hate being a beer lover livin’ in Texas =\ It’s outrageously difficult for small breweries to sell here, not unless they want to be committed to selling their beer in Texas for the next 10 years in addition to an entire list of other equally ridiculous requirements.

  28. Us poor Idahoans! Nothing in Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, or Utah. Gah!

  29. no utah? haha i mostly kid. but it is a bummer.

  30. dvirden@rocketmail.com permalink

Does this beer have flavors that have been unleashed from deep inside the barrel wood? Is it for choir boys? Has anyone else seen this commercial so many times that they will never drink Jim Beam again in their life?

    • I had quit drinking it long before that but it sure solidified the decision as the right choice. Second only to the Dr Pepper 10 Man Diet Drink insanity.

  31. Jesse permalink

All sold out in Cali by 11:00am. 😦
Stupid work, making me come in before Total Wine opens

  32. Chad permalink

What?! I can’t get a case in UTAH?!?!

  33. jack permalink

    sold out in indianapolis

  34. Nicole permalink

If they’d only sell it online they’d make a fortune. Already sold out in So Cal 😦

    • Jesse permalink

Yeah, I tried three locations on my break. No luck. But hey, you can buy six beers for $200+ on ebay now! lmfao. The internet is great, but sometimes I fucking hate it
